Mai Tai
Mai Tai is a playful, 2 1/2 year old IG looking for that special person to love. He'll follow his person from room to room, patiently waiting for attention and petting. At just 10 1/2 pounds, Tai is on the smaller side, but that doesn't stop him from acting like a big dog when he plays with the other IGs in his foster home. Mai Tai loves long strolls and he hasn't met another dog he doesn't like. After a long walk filled with sniffing and greeting other dogs, his favorite thing is to lay down on the sofa next to you.
Tai is a typical IG who is cautious with strangers until they gain his trust. With new people it takes him a while to come out of his shell, but when he does he likes scratches and ear-rubs. As Tai can be startled by loud sounds or noises, he would do best in a quiet household which does not have a lot of new people coming and going. A house with or without other dogs would be fine for Tai, but he does like other dogs and would love to have a canine companion. Tai will promise to always greet you with energetic wiggles and a wagging tail if you become his "special" person.
Longer, better life
There are two easy things you can do to increase the longevity and quality of your pet's life:
1. Don't let them get fat.
2. Brush their teeth.*
*Buildup of plaque and bacteria in the mouth eventually affects the lungs, heart and other organs and can actually shorten a dog's life or make him/her very ill. So brush, brush, brush.
